Description

The Clinical Nurse I cares for a group of patients with minimum supervision applying the nursing process and clinical standards. Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team. Is responsible for professional accountability and seeks opportunities to develop. Completion of Clinical Nurse Residency Orientation is acceptable in lieu of experience.

This internship is available for Morton Plant , Mease Dunedin, Mease Countryside, North Bay and St. Anthony’s Hospitals .

Required Experience: 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry experience in an acute care setting or LTAC facility is highly preferred.

RN's with prior acute LPN and or new graduates will be given consideration subject to the RN manager's discretion.

Required Licensure: FL RN License

Required Certification: BLS ( and EKG course must be completed prior to start date. Certification or transcripts will be required to interview)

Completion of an EKG course is required for the program. You can apply for an EKG course through the intranet through the Online Learning Center. If you have not completed an EKG course in the last three years, it is recommended you enroll in a class before applying for the program. You must pass the EKG course with an 80 percent. You are allowed two attempts during the first couple weeks of the program.

In order to be further considered for this internship, you must submit an essay within one week from the date your application is submitted. Once you have written your essay, you will need to log back in and upload it to your application

* Internship Begins Jan 30, 2017 (external applicants will be required to attend a one week orientation begining Jan 2, 2017 prior to starting the program)

*Internship will be 12 weeks in length. During the time of the internship all interns will be assigned to the day shift and will be exempt from any overtime. Interns should not be taking any other programs or courses during the internship.

* Upon completion of the program you will work on the shift and the unit you were hired for (no exceptions). Available openings and shifts are based on the needs of the unit. You must be flexible and willing to work either day or night shift.

*There is a two year required commitment for the internship program, specifically to the unit of hire beginning at the end of the 12 week program.
