CLASSIFICATION:    Mechanical Inspector 
HOURS:    40 Hours Per Week

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:    
•    High School Diploma or GED.
•    Five to Seven years of experience in the mechanical trade, with time spent in a supervisory position.
•    Current FL Mechanical Inspector License (preferred).
•    Current FL Mechanical Plans Examiner License (preferred).
•    Mechanical Contractors License (preferred).
•    Mechanical ARI and ACCA Certifications (preferred).

In lieu of current FL licensure, consideration may be given to those who can obtain their Provisional License within 120 days of hire and become fully licensed within 1 year. Licensure must be kept current – as a condition of continued employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:    
Perform duties to inspect mechanical installations, and review plans for code compliance with EPCOT codes and state codes, laws, and regulations, working within the limits of established policies. 
•    Perform field inspections of mechanical installations and repairs, for compliance with EPCOT codes and state, codes, laws, and regulations. Maintain records of building and inspection activity, and complete related reports.
•    Perform plan reviews of proposed mechanical work. Correspond with engineers, owners and contractors as warranted in the process.
•    Perform field inspections of fire sprinkler installations and repairs. Coordinate inspections with contractors and fire department personnel.
•    Prepare and perform Annual Emergency Power Tests. Test tasks include, completion of worksheets, attending coordination meetings, development of documents to archive, and identifying and reporting safety hazards.
•    Perform general office work as required, including but not limited to attending meetings, preparing reports and correspondence, and maintaining files.
•    Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. 
•    Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
•    Perform other related duties as assigned.
•    Regular, dependable attendance required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
•    While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, touch, speak, hear, and see.  An employee is occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, twist, carry, climb, push and pull.  
•    An employee must lift and/or move small articles and occasionally lift objects up to 20 pounds. 
•    An employee must demonstrate fine motor skills and to be able to operate vehicles and other equipment. 
•    An employee is occasionally required to work in heat, cold and wet/damp conditions and to navigate uneven and/or outdoor terrain. 
•    Certain positions may require work above ground or in enclosed spaces.
•    Certain positions may have requirements of 50 pounds maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
•    Positions requiring strength demands in the Heavy and/or Very Heavy category have detailed physical performance analyses available for review.

SALARY:  
Wage ranges between $958 and $1,278 per week.
