Supervisor - Production

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee all areas of Chilled Packaging, including personnel, including machine operators for all equipment associated with a high speed packaging lines, including: casers, depalletizers, pasteurizers, PLC’s, packers, palletizers, fillers, fill level detectors, stretch wrappers, seamers, ink jet coders, and cappers.
• Perform all supervisory functions of personnel including interviewing, selection, orientation, training, disciplinary, and maintaining daily communication with Chilled Packaging Manager, Human Resources and other departments as needed.
• Completing and submitting various reports to management, including but not limited to downtime, efficiency, scheduling problems, personnel problems, daily attendance forms, correction notices, quit/termination reports on a daily basis.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

• All other duties as assigned by management.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE:

• Must have strong packaging and food processing skills, knowledge and experience with the equipment and processes used by the Company.
• Must have excellent people skills and the ability to work with maintenance and other personnel.
• Must have ability to communicate with co-workers and members of management.
• Must be willing to be hands on and quickly be on the spot where trouble is identified working to solve the issue.
• Knowledge and experience with PSM, RMP, HAZMAT, HACCP, Safety and Food Safety requirements, helpful.
• Requires visual and auditory acuity, hand and eye coordination, finger dexterity and the ability to access all work areas.
• May require ability to work in different work environments ranging from cold to hot.
• Ability to move and use all items required to perform the primary job functions.
• Ability to perform the job in timely manner consistent with industry norms and the company’s experience with the time required to perform the functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a food production environment preferred.
• Experience with Evergreen, Schneider and ABC Equipment, or other liquid foods processing and packaging equipment helpful. Silver Springs Citrus is an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
