Merlin Entertainments is offering you this exciting opportunity to take control of the day to day operation of our exciting attractions in the Events department.
The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye is a 400ft observation wheel, providing unrivalled breath-taking views of Central Florida in all directions within fully enclosed, air-conditioned glass capsules.
SEA LIFE is the world’s biggest aquarium brand with more than 40 attractions across the world. Each attraction opens a window into the magical world beneath our seas.
Madame Tussauds is the ultimate celebrity interactive experience, where you can get up close and personal with A-list celebrities, sporting legends, political heavyweights and historical icons.
Welcoming more than 40 million guests a year, our attractions are the embodiment of everything our business stands for, and talented and motivated people are what really bring our attractions to life. We are recruiting Duty Managers for all three attractions, across a range of departments.
Requirements/Qualifications: As a Team Leader you will manage the frontline teams in their daily operational tasks. You will take ownership over the delivery of world class guest service at all times, as well as ensuring departmental goals and standards are exceeded. You will look at ways to improve the operation to increase guest satisfaction and you will ensure that Health and Safety is always prioritized. We are looking for Team Leaders in our Events team who values fun, love working with people, and are innovative.
Duties will include:
* Event Team Leads will oversee the team that handles all private, corporate and consumer events, SEA LIFE Behind the Scenes Tour and Discovery Experience, School Group workshops for all three attractions, 360° VIP Experiences and Birthday Parties at SEA LIFE and Magnus the Shark.
* To promote and deliver high quality guest experience throughout the attractions, exceeding service standards at all times.
* To lead and motivate a team on a daily basis, ensuring strong communication, team work and efficiency against business Key Performance Indicators.
* To react and report any incident that occurs and ensure the safety of our guests and team members remains the number one priority.
* To maximize revenue opportunities and encourage team members to exceed commercial targets.
* To manage frontline teams through sickness and absence, as well as providing rewards and recognition for excellent performance, whilst providing appropriate measures, such as coaching team members.
* To coach team members, providing them with opportunity for growth and development and assisting with providing the attractions with a defined succession plan.
* This role requires the ability to frequently stand, walk, handle or lift objects or supplies. They also are required to reach with hands and arms, as well as potentially kneel, crouch, climb or balance.
In order to be successful in the role, candidates should be comfortable presenting to groups large or small, interacting with children of all ages and have excellent communication skills.

The Person
The successful candidate will be self-motivated with excellent communication, negotiation, planning and organizational skills with an outgoing and professional manner. You will value fun, be innovative, and enjoy working with the guests. You will be confident in your ability to manage a team during busy operational periods. You will be able to lead, coach and motivate a team as well as possessing competent literacy and numeracy skills. As a team player you’ll need to be flexible to working hours, have the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and act with flair and initiative.
