Live Show Director

Job Description: In the TV Production Department as a Live Show Director you will have the unique opportunity of being a part of a live, 24/7, studio environment and will gain insight to the Live Show and gain better understanding of how each area plays a part in the overall vision of the programming. This is a role that requires a leader, with good communication skills and a keen ability to think strategically and react quickly in an ever changing environment. The Live Show Director must have solid technical skills and excellent dependability, as well as a willingness to adapt to the needs of the show as you are giving direction and providing leadership to the live show team in all technical aspects. Day in the Life Execute live show content as determined by the producing team during pre-pro utilizing the SONY 9000 DVS Give direction to the live show team in all technical aspects of the show Complete pre-production tasks for assigned show blocks Conduct pre-production meetings with the live show crew Follow up with crew and talent after show block to solicit and provide feedback Conduct monthly self reviews and production reviews with key members of staff Determine blocking for cameras on set prior to show working in conjunction with the lighting and scenic teams Perform other related duties as assigned Keys to Success At HSN, if you are Agile, Innovative, Pioneering, Dynamic, Boundaryless, Passionate, Customer-Centric, Collaborative, and Results-Focused, you will love it here! Must Haves * Bachelor degree in Television or Mass Communications or equivalent combination of education and experience * 1 year of live television directing experience * Strong technical knowledge of production switchers including the ability to recall, use and create snapshots, shotboxes, effects and macros * Experience with the SONY 9000 DVS switcher * Experience with Vinten robotic camera operations * Experience with Chyron's LEX, HyperX and XClyps Systems * Experience with live music performances * Excellent understanding of all job assignments within the TV Production reporting structure * Lifting, pulling or pushing items over 20 lbs. * Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time "Candidates will be considered in totality of their skills and experience versus strict interpretation of "must haves".
