JOB SUMMARY: Employee is responsible for all marketing and communications to promote the programs, services, giving needs, purpose and vision of The Children’s Home Network.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the marketing and communications of CHN to include the development and coordination of print materials, agency website and social media outlets, newsletter, annual report, displays, promotions, press releases and other marketing and communications tools used by staff and volunteers to promote the organization.
- Manages monthly marketing meeting with program directors and managers to coordinate company marketing efforts and maintain brand integrity.
- Responsible for all public relations, communication and marketing initiatives that generate good-will and financial support for CHN; including but not limited to, press releases, media relations, creation of direct mail and electronic appeals, marketing/branding pieces/campaigns, workplace giving, speaking engagements, and CHN publications.
- Directly manages the CHN website and all social media initiatives.
- Responsible for the establishment and cultivation of electronic and print media relations for increased coverage of agency programs, services and special events. Participates in events as required.
- Responsible for the development and creation for all print and electronic materials to support the agency and its programs and services.
- Works with the CEO, Chief of Development and Director of Development to develop an agency-wide Marketing, Public Education and Communications Plan, including crisis communications procedures and branding criteria. Participates in disaster preparedness planning.
- Provides support with VIP tours, special events, in-kind campaigns, volunteer recruitment, public education, agency branding and marketing efforts.
- Participates in the organization’s continuous improvement process.
- Provides Leadership and oversight of agency-wide public relations program including branding, all program print materials and agency publications, corporate solicitations, VIP tour messaging and materials, public education materials and activities, and event materials and promotion activities.
- Assists all departments and programs as needed with marketing and event support.
- Tracks marketing spending against budget and facilitates vendor bidding and relationships to get the best price and assists as needed to ask for in-kind products and services to off-set marketing budget.
- Models and supports policies and procedures relating to public education, marketing, branding, volunteers, internal and external communications in compliance with The Council on Accreditation and other governing bodies.
- Maintains accurate records and fully utilizes Raisers Edge databases to record relationship management actions and event records in a timely manner.
- Works within the philosophy and framework of The Children’s Horne Network. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing or Public Relations required. Three (3) years of experience in public relations, communications or related field preferably at a non-profit preferred.
Experience and knowledge using Adobe CS including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Experience and knowledge using SquareSpace website design program required.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license with no record of criminal driving offense of license suspension.
- Must possess means of providing job related transportation and show proof of required insurance. Must be insurable under CHN's current auto insurance policy.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.
COMPETENCIES & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
Annual Training Requirements:
The following training topics are required annually: Sexual Harassment, Blood-borne Pathogens, Workplace Accident Prevention and Reporting, Confidentiality and Privacy Practices, Diversity/Cultural Competency, Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporter Statutes and Methods, Prevention of Violence in the Workplace, OSHA-related training, Crisis Prevention, and Program Goals.
Knowledge. Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional writing abilities are imperative.
- Must be able to write a press release, write in AP style, be proficient with Photoshop Quark and other desktop publishing software and possess graphic design skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Software, Adobe Creative Suite of Products and possess graphic design skills.
- Experience with Raiser's Edge is preferred.
- Previous website and social media management is preferred.
- Previous experience in writing and editing newsletters preferred.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
- Possess good hearing (with or without hearing device).
- Ability to effectively operate a telephone and personal computer.
- Frequent use of hands, voice and hearing. Ability to speak clearly and effectively.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (40 lbs.).
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time on occasion.
- Ability to drive to and from special events.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Works primarily indoors in an office environment. Occasionally may work outdoors during special events.
