This position is located in Lake Mary, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Notifies or locates members on charged-off loans and credit cards. Attempts to secure payment or settlement by appropriate means.
- Has knowledge of FDCPA and TCPA.
- Has experience and knowledge with extensive skip tracing without the use of a skip tracing program and ability to secure arrangements to recover charged-off debt.
- Must have strong member service skills and have the ability to use information to effectively collect recovery dollars.
- Must possess ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be very detailed and possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate and facilitate payments and settlements with 3rd party collection agency.
- Documents verbal and written correspondence with members regarding status of accounts.
- Prepare files for small claims, lawsuits, and garnishments.
- Experience representing a financial institution at small claims and 341 hearings.
- Possess reliable transportation and valid driver’s license to attend hearings.
- Conducts diligent follow-up through queues and calendars to ensure appropriate follow-up on accounts.
- Escalates problem accounts to appropriate management as necessary.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requires 3-5 years of collections experience within a credit union or other financial institution. Some travel is required, must own reliable vehicle. Strong PC and multi-tasking skills are required. Bilingual language skills a plus.
