Ocala Health encompasses Ocala Regional Medical Center, currently a 222-bed facility located in the heart of Ocala, and West Marion Community Hospital , a 94-bed hospital located in West Marion County. The hospitals offer a host of other quality and award winning services including bariatric surgery , orthopedic care and joint replacement , robotic surgery , cardiac and vascular services including open heart surgery and interventional procedures, emergency , neurological and rehabilitation services. Ocala Regional Medical Center is also a Level II Trauma Center . Ocala Health s outpatient facilities include Family Care Specialists, a primary care network of seven locations throughout Marion County; Advanced Imaging Centers with two locations; a freestanding Wound and Hyperbaric Center ; a Senior Wellness Community Center ; and four surgical and physician specialty practices. Position Summary: The Stroke Coordinator/Abstractor is responsible for effectively coordinating the stroke program, maintaining compliance with any external regulatory requirements and internal benchmarks. Assists in the coordination of performance improvement activities within the hospital through the review and analysis of data collected through the hospital PI program. Identifies quality issues and pursues opportunities to improve patient care. Demonstrates a high level of clinical competence that creates an environment of clinical excellence, resulting in improved individual and group clinical outcomes. Through role modeling, coaching and demonstration, fosters learning for the staff and promotes outcomes-oriented nursing practice.EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as an RN. Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: Two (2) years of acute care hospital nursing experience, including experience in critical care or emergency services, required. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, math, analysis, reading, following instruction, basic computer usage.
