Job Title: Floor Care Attendant
Department: Housekeeping
Report to: Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager and/or Supervisors
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for deep cleaning, stripping, waxing, rebuffing and spot cleaning floors in public areas and villas, as well as carpet cleaning as requested by Housekeeping managers and/or supervisors
- Move furniture and appliances a short distance for special cleaning projects as assigned by Housekeeping managers and/or supervisors
- Comply with work scheduling and attendance requirements in accordance to reasonable policy and practices. Staffing needs and Village emergencies may require rotating schedules, days, nights, overnight hours, weekends, holidays and even extended hours of work
- Perform floor care and carpet cleaning in accordance with established procedures, ensuring the highest standards are met or exceeded
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment
- Ensure all public areas and villa floor care and restoration are fulfilled daily, weekly, monthly as indicated on floor cleaning schedule
- Follows cleaning schedule to help ensure that all villa and venue carpets are cleaned at least once each month
- Clean at least 8 carpets per day including any work orders for carpet care
- Must be able to operate floor/carpet cleaning equipment, including but not limited to floor stripping, buffing, waxing and miscellaneous heavy duty machinery as well as carpet cleaning van and other carpet cleaning equipment
- Practice extreme precautionary and safety measures when utilizing specialized floor care chemicals and equipment, including but not limited to the use of safety masks when handling acid-based chemicals
- Complete special projects and able to assist with special assignments as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS BEYOND NORMAL OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Lifting/moving of heavy objects up to 75 lbs.
- Work in outdoor weather conditions
- Work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Proficiency in the appropriate usage of equipment/machinery and specialized chemicals required in the care of varied floor surfaces
- Must be able to perform all general aspects of floor care and carpet cleaning
- Ability to move or lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must possess reasonable decision making ability and be extremely safety oriented
- Creativity in cleaning solutions is a plus when floor and/or carpet cleaning challenges evolve
- Good communication skills and ability to remain calm in any situation
- Must have an eye for detail
- Must have a valid driver’s license to operate carpet cleaning van
- Ability to communicate with guests, supervisors and other staff members on Village needs
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School diploma
- Must have multi-floor surface cleaning and restoration experience
- Must have carpet cleaning experience
- Basic math skills
