Job Description Department: Valet Parking Position: Bellperson/Valet Attendant Job Overview: Individual's role will be dual: Bell Role: Will be in charge of transporting the luggage from the car to the hotel room and back. A bellperson may also load or unload luggage from the car, store luggage for the guests, help guests with packages and find lost luggage. After the guests check in at the front desk, the bellperon will escort the guests to their hotel room. The bellperson should tell guests about the rooms' features as well as the services that are available in the hotel. Individual will assist in the overall warm welcome and fond farewell process. Valet Attendant Role: Individual will be an integral part of the warm welcome and fond farewell process by greeting all customers. Individual will be the primary mover of vehicles to and from the parking facility. Individual will have some safety and loss prevention responsibilities. Individual will learn and use aggressive hospitality concepts at all times. Reports To: Valet Parking Manager, Valet Parking Assistant Manager and USA Parking System, Inc. Corporate Office Key Relationships: All hotel and parking customers, property department heads and parking associates Qualifications: Essential: 1.Must have a GED or higher education. 2.Must have a valid driver's license. 3.Must meet criminal history and drug testing guidelines. 4.Ability to communicate effectively in English. 5.Must have the ability to operate a manual transmission. 6.Ability to provide legible communications. 7.Familiarity of property operations and surroundings. 8.Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check 9.Must be able to stand during entire shift 10.Must be able to push and pull (on bell cart) 75 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally 11.Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and ability to adjust focus 12.For insurance purposes, must be at least 18 years of age 13.Ability to smile, acknowledge, greet and extend a warm welcome to each and every customer. 14.Ability to enhance the wellbeing of each customer to ensure a positive memorable parking experience. 15.Ability to provide high levels of customer service and demands the same from all associates. 16.Ability to maintain high standard of cleanliness of work area, personal appearance, organization, etc. and demand the same from associates. Desirable: 1. Ability to communicate in other languages. 2.College degree. 3.Previous experience as a Bellperson or Bell Captain 4.Previous customer relations or Bell training 2. Previous hotel experience Essential Job Functions: 1.Must attend all continued training seminars and classes when called upon. 2.Acknowledge and greet guests within 10 feet. 3.Provides professional aggressive hospitality in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner to all guests. 4.Assists guests with luggage including delivery and pick up of guest luggage during guest arrival and departure. 5.Conduct an effective and efficient room presentation. 6.Assist guests with room changes. 7.Knowledge of hotel, outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, services, main attractions in the area, parking rates, etc. 8.Correctly tag individual bags to be stored in the guest services closet. 9.Assure all guests and luggage are safely transported to/from assigned destination. 10.Must attend all meetings required by property and corporate office. 11.Must adhere to all policies as outlined in Associate Handbook. 12.Must adhere to customer name recognition program. 13.Must adhere to property VIP customer program. 14.Must problem solve all customer complaints in a professional manner. 15.Must report a personal injury of any kind immediately to the claims division manager. 16.Must have a working knowledge of valet attendant job description. 17.Must adhere to associate-parking restrictions. 18.Must adhere to departmental phone answering script. 19.Must adhere to associate posting and rotation procedures. 20.Must observe and abide by tip pooling procedures. 21.Must inform corporate office of driver's license status at all times. 22.Must perform at a high level in aggressive hospitality at all times. 23.Will ensure the traffic flow on the driveway is efficient. 24.Will be aware of all unattended vehicles on the driveway. 25.Will ensure all unattended vehicles on the driveway be movable if emergency arises. 26.Will be the secondary issuer of valet parking tickets to the guests. 27.Must participate in the customer coat program. 28.Must participate in customer windshield washing program. 29.Must participate in customer name recognition program. 30.Must participate in property VIP customer program. 31.Must observe vehicle call-down procedures. 32.Must observe luxury vehicle procedures. 33.Must observe oversize vehicle procedures. 34.Must observe handicap vehicle procedures. 35.Must introduce upset customer to manager or supervisor in a professional manner. 36.Must observe seemingly intoxicated customer procedures. 37.Must observe prohibition of removing customer vehicle from property procedures. 38.Must observe procedures of securing customer valuables in vehicle. 39.Must perform a vehicle pre-existing damage inspection. 40.Must assist in lot checks by being observant for potential problems in the parking area. 41.Must be alert for parking hazards and make adjustments in parking the vehicle accordingly. 42.Must report all incidents and accidents no matter how minor to a manager or supervisor. 43.Must introduce a customer who has lost their claim check to the manager or supervisor. 44.Must fill out all parking tickets as instructed by management. 45.Must secure each vehicle parked unless otherwise instructed by management. 46.Must initial every parking ticket for accountability purposes. Ideal candidate: 1.Is an expert at elevator holding, weaving, dodging and pushing with a bell cart in hand and luggage aboard. 2.Can easily maintain a conversation about home towns, favorite football teams, number of children or any other appropriate topic with a guest while leading them to their room. 3.Successfully hails a cab, loads luggage, opens doors and also remembers the guest's name! Physical requirements of the position include: ?? Ability to drive standard shift ?? Ability to sprint short distances ?? Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 6 or 8 hours, less break) ?? Ability to withstand extreme temperatures ??
