Job DescriptionMarlow s Tavern ( is looking for a fun, talented, and self-motivated Chef de Cuisine. This position will be responsible for Back of House management, ensuring all dishes meet the highest quality standards, and creating an exceptional guest service experience. The Chef de Cuisine is crucial to that success. The ideal candidate will be able to set the tone for quality, sanitation, food safety, urgency, productivity, and teamwork, which are the hallmarks of a Marlow s Culinary Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, and excellent management and people skills. This position will require superior guest service skills, as our lines are located in the dining area and designed to promote guest interaction. This is an excellent opportunity for a kitchen manager, chef de cuisine, or executive chef with 2-3 years of experience. With autonomy to create daily lunch and dinner specials, plan special events, and get to know their regular guests, the Chef de Cuisine will work alongside the General Manager to find new and creative ways to best serve their unique neighborhood. Duties and Responsibilities of the Chef de Cuisine include: Crafting high quality dishes in a made-from-scratch setting, and supervising staff food preparation Managing Back of House, including creating schedules, completing reviews, and taking disciplinary action when needed Inventory and ordering, menu development, insight into marketing, cost and wage control Analyze and forecast data to make judgements to ensure proper payroll and production control Run expo and perform table touches to promote a guest-focused environment Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time Qualifications of the Chef de Cuisine: Excellent interpersonal skills and energetic personality Ability to work independently and collaboratively 2-3 years in Kitchen Manager, Chef de Cuisine, or Executive Chef position Thorough knowledge of food products, standard recipes, and proper preparation Ability to work with a diverse workforce with respect and fairness Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English Must be able to work while walking or standing for 6-11.5 hours per day; must have motor skills for grasping, lifting, carrying and fulfilling all kitchen duties Strong leadership skills to manage prep cooks and line cooks Marlow s Tavern is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
