Interior Designer - Hospitality

Job Description In this detail oriented and creative role you will have an exciting opportunity to work closely with other designers, purchasing agents and construction project managers in a high design environment. You will design and provide consultation, drawings, specifications and administration of design construction contracts relating to nonstructural interior elements of a commercial building or structure, including reflected ceiling plans, space planning, furnishings and the fabrication of nonstructural elements within and surrounding interior spaces of building. Duties include project management, budgeting and occasional traveling. Responsibilities: Research projects and meet with clients to specify color, style, furniture, fixtures equipment and lead a team with project information Construct color boards, set up table top presentations, create specification sheets, work in CAD, and follow the project from the programming phase through the purchase phase Produce electronic design schemes Manage the Design team workload and deadlines to maintain the project schedule and budget Communicate with clients to assess what they want and need in a space, and then present your ideas for meeting those goals in a compelling way Coordinate with Architects, Electricians, Plumbers and others to complete the job in a timely and cost-effective manner Train Design Assistants and Project Coordinators Administrative tasks include answering phone calls, updating databases, filing and customer service Occasional travel required Qualifications: Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills, attributes, experience and knowledge: Bachelor s degree with a Design major required Hospitality Design experience preferred 3 years of experience preferred Strong computer skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Spexx, Sketch Up or other design software Strong creativity with a sense of style Attention to detail, documenting the process and the products used Ability to provide sketches of your proposed designs for a space Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate with vendors and contractors Superb team work and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and contracts and negotiations on your client s behalf Basic knowledge of building and safety codes to ensure that the interior design plan meets all necessary requirements Benefits: We value our employees time and efforts.
