Essential Functions

  • Develop and coordinate Quality System programs, practices and documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards, including quality manuals, HACCP Program, Master Sanitation Schedule, Pest Control Program, GMP’s, Allergen Control Program and SQF.
  • Serve as a SQF Practitioner for the facility.
  • Serve as the Preventive Controls Qualified Individual for the facility.
  • Review analytical and production records.
  • Assist in the coordination, preparation for and administration of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) audits, Customer audits and quality audits performed by 3rd parties.
  • Initiate and oversee monthly auditing compliance including contract pack self -assessments, mock recall initiation and review, SQF and other quality systems assessment audits.
  • Monitor and administrate the Company’s Hold Program.
  • Monitor and Administrate the Company’s Consumer Complaint Program.
  • Monitor and administrate the Company’s Corrective Action Program. 
  • Monitor and administrate the Company’s Approved Supplier Program.
  • Monitor and administrate the Company’s Kosher and Organic Programs.
  • Complete forms and documents required by both external and internal customers.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance KPI’s.
  • Develop presentations for the monthly Food Safety and Quality meetings.
  • Follows instructions and responds to management direction.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and completes work in a timely manner.
  • Possesses familiarity with basic food science, microbiology and chemistry.
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.
  • Follows policies and procedures and uses equipment and materials, properly.
  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Able to make sound decisions based on adherence to procedures and experience.

Skills and Knowledge

Education and/or Experience

A bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in food science, food technology, microbiology or chemistry and one – three years’ experience in a food or beverage manufacturing quality assurance role.
