Job Description: Senior Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician The Senior Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician spends most of their time at the solid waste or treatment facility troubleshooting problems with Leachate Collection and Landfill Gas Collection systems and municipal lift stations. They are able to work independently and use their knowledge/experience to isolate and identify problems with pumps, control panels, SCADA and associated mechanical systems. They understand the technicalities involved in troubleshooting problems and are capable of identifying and contacting appropriate vendors for assistance when necessary. Once a solution is identified, they are able to coordinate vendor onsite support and monitor the work to ensure it is completed per the scope of work. Senior Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician spends most of their duty hours on project sites including landfills, storm water pump stations and sewage lift stations; office work is minimal. The skills required for the Senior Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician may vary depending upon the job location and specifics of the installed systems however there are some basic requirements that they should possess. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct fault isolation and troubleshooting to identify the source of electrical, control or mechanical problems and develops solution for the sameContact pump and panel system vendors for support in isolating problems with vendor equipment.Periodically monitors the performance of Leachate Collection and Landfill Gas Collection systems at multiple locations using SCADA based remote monitoring tools and/or onsite visits.Coordinate and monitor vendor/subcontractor work when outside resources are required to resolve a problem.Reports job progress to management on a daily basis.Contacts management for support when more difficult problems arise. Skills The Senior Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician should be skilled at performing most mechanical and electrical / control troubleshooting and repair tasks at a solid waste facility and storm water/sewage lift station site with little supervisionThey should have ability to work in adverse setting and climatic conditionsAdept at troubleshooting mechanical issues with piping systems including faulty pumps, bad valves, blocked piping, etc.Adept at troubleshooting electrical issues with control panels and SCADA management systems including faulty sensors, faulty low voltage wiring, faulty capacitors, or issues with PLC and SCADA communication systems,Knowledge of HDPE pipe welding, basic plumbing and mechanical skills (valves, fittings, etc) a plusShould have the ability to communicate effectively with the client and with management.Enthusiastic, persistent, patient and should be an independent and critical thinkerAbility to prioritize tasks depending upon the urgency of the situation.The Orlando Sentinel.
