The Food & Beverage Supervisor (FBS) is to manage food & beverage and retail outlets maintaining the highest possible standards of products and service while maximizing profitability through cost and labor control. Responsible for all administrative functions including purchases, production, service, storage, sanitation, staffing, training, cost control, equipment maintenance and enhancing revenues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Hire, lead, train, develop and motivates all F&B staff. Oversees scheduling of employees and cultivates high morale amongst staff in order to minimize turnover.
  • Recommends and implements promotional strategies and advertising in order to increase F&B revenues and property sales.
  • Executes Senior Leadership requests via project management accomplishment and manages contracted outside vendors.
  • Oversees the ordering of all F&B purchases including food, beverages, supplies, and equipment. Maintains inventory levels to maximize profitability.
  • Accurately performs end of month inventory procedures.
  • Maintains an awareness of the competition through periodic inspection and continual review of local promotions.
  • Maintains equipment and security in all areas of the F&B department.
  • Inspects all refrigerators and storerooms for excessive inventories, over-preparation, spoilage, and ensures proper sanitary conditions.
  • Prepares, authorizes, and verifies all departmental payroll information.
  • Maintains operating policies and hours of operation for all F&B outlets.
  • Ensures that the department meets the requirements of the Board of Health and the Alcoholic Beverage commission, as well as any other local governing agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management and necessary to operate the department when servicing guests.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced education courses in hotel or restaurant management would be preferred.
  • Attainment of a C.F.B.E. designation preferred.
  • Previous experience as F&B Supervisor is preferred.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 3+ year of experience as a bartender and/or server. Must be of legal age for serving alcoholic beverages. General knowledge of mixed drinks, beers, and wines.
  • TIPS & SafeStaff certification, preferred.
  • Previous guest service experience in a hotel, resort, theme park, or hospitality retail environment.
  • Must have good communication and customer service skills. Must be friendly with a helpful personality to handle guest relations in a pleasant, professional and effective manner.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand Basic English in order to communicate effectively with all guests and other resort staff.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to work in hot conditions “outside” and able to work standing for extended periods of time; up to four hours in length.
  • Physically/Strategically able to gain access to areas and items requiring service, removal, and/or replacement. Activities may include but not limited to the ability to walk, bend, carry, squat, kneel, climb, crawl, reach, and stoop with at times some endurance to frequency with such activity.

Must be able to lift and carry tools, equipment, fixtures and other items weighing up to 25 pounds. Must be possess hand dexterity to operate hand tools and equipment.
