The Activities Coordinator (AC) is responsible for supporting aspects of the Recreation department to include the proper operation of assigned activities, assist in development and participation of individual and/or group fun activities property wide and assess, plan, implement and evaluate programs for daily activities. All planned activities must meet guests’ functional needs, and reflect interest of each participant. AC will be a lead to train, manage inventory, and guide other department team members, when necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Encourage, recruit, register, and schedule guests to participate in recreation activities.
- Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests & team members. Provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals.
- Provide information to guests about recreational activities and scheduled events. Facilitates scheduled activities on time in designated area. Prepare special event flyers and program brochures
- Work directly with Recreation Director for coordination of special functions as well as other departments. Assist in the planning, organizing and instructing of classes, activities, holiday programs and events. Coordinate programs on a seasonal and annual basis for all age groups.
- Account of all monies collected & inventory distributed.
- Continually seek new and exciting ideas to improve and expand the Recreation Program
- Assist in monitoring the pool area and enforcing all rules and regulations in a caring manner.
- Carry out any reasonable request or special project by management of which the associate is capable of performing.
- Be aware of possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisor/manager.
- Follow company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional. Clean and maintain recreational equipment and supplies.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Protect company assets.
- Keep inventory of equipment, guest participation, and guest interactions daily. Submit order requests and inform manager when supplies are low.
- Maintain crafts and games in a neat manner and in working order; keep activities area orderly and clean.
ESSENTIAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1 year experience in related field
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one on one and group situations in an enthusiastic manner.
- Ability to communicate needs and concerns to supervisor/manager & other team members.
- Ability to solve problems and generate solutions.
- Ability to work well with others and influence positive behavior in work areas.
- Possess excellent customer service skills and able to apply good judgement.
- Must be able to reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop; move, lift and carry objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds; stand, sit, climb, craw, balance, throw, kneel, crouch, or walk; Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested. Work outside in the elements; heat, cold, rain, etc.
