SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring day to day accounting functions are completed in accordance with standard procedure, performing many of these functions using the Credit Union’s computer system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Compiles and reviews documents, such as credit card documents and teller transaction list, substantiating business transactions and posts spreadsheets as appropriate.
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, accounts payable, journal entries, maintenance of subsidiary records, ACH entries, ACH debit origination, and transactions in various ATM network.
- Reconciles specifically assigned General Ledger accounts.
- Works with the mainframe computer system performing routines such as General Ledger Account maintenance, downloading from Synergy imaging system, retrieving and printing routine reports, running special reports for management, and other periodic requirements.
- Verifying files created to be sent off to the Fed for ACH, Sharedrafts, MATT Web, and RDC have been received and accepted.
- Serves as backup for all FRB Services staff and performs such other duties and tasks as might be assigned from time to time by the Accounting Manager or the Director and may report directly to the Director.
- Posting incoming wire transfers and checking OFAC verification.
- Entering Notification of Changes (NOCs) into Fedline Advantage daily.
- Metric reporting and tracking of wire transfers – incoming, outgoing, domestic, and international.
- Creating x937 files for day end uploads to the Federal Reserve Bank.
- Balancing branches check files daily to system totals in Episys and Image Center.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Two year Business, Accounting, or Finance degree required, four year degree preferred. In addition, two or more years of relevant experience required.
