The Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orlando, Florida invites applicants to apply for the position of Part-time Compensation Analyst. Part time will be considered no less than 32 hours/4 days a week and up to 39 hours.

Job Summary:

Assists in the development and administration of employee salary administration programs and Human Resources system support.

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated
  • No illegal drug usage within the past two years, all other usage will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) in Human Resources Management or a related field; and two (2) years related experience.  Additional education may substitute for related experience.
  • Related compensation certification and programming experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with public sector or law enforcement compensation systems preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication skills and provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to utilize intermediate computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; with an ability to learn and utilize Human Resources (HRIS) software.
  • Ability to work with management on compensation actions for employees; and to review proposed salary actions to ensure conformance with established guidelines.
  • Ability to compile salary surveys and analyze results to determine organization market relations.
  • Ability to maintain agency position control and provides information as required regarding authorized positions, vacancies, and employee data; with an ability to develop and provide related reports.
  • Ability to research special compensation programs and incentive systems to support the organizational objectives.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth costing scenarios of current and proposed pay structure changes and work closely with management team during fiscal portions of agency pay changes and union negotiations.
  • Ability to develop recommendations to adjust pay structure in response to changing organizational needs, union requests, and market values.
  • Ability to analyze current organizational pay practices and make recommendations for pay changes to ensure equity.
  • Ability to conduct job analysis to determine appropriate salary level according to agency compensation guidelines and policy.
  • Ability to handle the maintenance and modification of some functional HRIS components; develop and maintain HR system codes (job codes, status codes, department codes), employee pay groups and personnel actions; conduct system audits, test process flow changes; coordinate HR tasks related to agency reorganizations or pay implementations; and create mass change actions or spreadsheets needed to implement all changes.
  • Ability to create HR and payroll system reports for management, such as, but not limited to: manpower, attrition, promotions, statistics, etc. Ability to update all related reports due to agency reorganizations or upgrades.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Salary Range: $19.03/hr. or 19.99/hr. with 3+ years of experience
