Purpose of the position: Responsible for auditing prior day revenue. Confirm and track credit card payments. Count daily deposit, issue banks, audit banks, provide change, and create over and short report.  Assist in guest inquiries, and collections for hotel. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Verify accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings from income audit pack. 
  • Review cash and credit card payments.  Track credit card payments with Spire spreadsheets.
  • Review miscellaneous charges for appropriate coding, audit employee shift closings, audit packs, respond to any Night Audit concerns.  Distribute vouchers to be billed to Wholesalers and Airlines.
  • Review all F&B Distribution before preparation of manager daily pack is distributed. 
  • Calculate and email Daily revenue report.
  • Perform envelope verification with Loss Prevention.  Count daily drops and prepare deposits for pickup by armored card service.
  • Complete due back forms for cashiers to collect.
  • Issue banks and review contract with new cashiers.  Perform monthly manager bank audits and quarterly hourly bank audits of all cashier banks.
  • Provide change during designated times.  Place bank change orders when necessary. 
  • Create Spire Cash Over and Short report for daily distribution.
  • Track petty cash slips weekly for AP entry and to be reimbursed monthly.
  • Answer correspondence relative to guest calls.  Prepare adjustments and charges in accordance to guest inquiry.
  • Insure AR files are kept in storage in compliance with the established retention period.
  • Assist in any other tasks as required by management.

  • Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be flexible enough to work any shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is a minimum requirement. An Associate's Degree from two-year College or technical school is preferred
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.                   

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
