General Overview: The Residential Field Services Manager leads the team responsible for the installation of low voltage products both a production and custom home environment. Utilizing project management skills and knowledge of the installation process the Manager ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, meet quality standards and meet customer expectations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversees employees and subcontractors performing wiring, installing, programming and maintenance of products and services ordered for residential structures under construction, prior to and after placement of walls/ceilings as well as existing structures for security systems, telephones, cable television, CCTV, intercom systems, central vacuum systems, phone & cable jacks, control panels, speakers, antennas, security control boxes/panels, keypads, low voltage lighting, voice activated systems, and audio/video systems.
- Conducts pre-construction meetings as well as regular progress meetings with home owners and builders.
- Coordinates inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Studies blueprints, schematics, manuals, work orders and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
- Inspects low-voltage electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Ensure that all company processes are followed related to proposals, contracts inventory and change orders, confirm all projects are properly documented, scheduled and invoiced.
- Builds tools and processes to improve the efficiency of operations by increasing turnaround time, lowering costs and improving customer satisfaction.
- Maintains change request log and control changes.
- Corresponds with management and builders to ensure project is completed on time and within budget.
- Monitors costs and performs projections.
- Maintains and report accurate records of hours and materials used.
- Responsible for back charge control.
- Produces project status reports.
- Ensure that all residential staff receive suitable training on residential low voltage technology
- Assist the Operations Manager will operational and financial reports relative to residential jobs.
- Performs other duties as needed and directed.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- At least ten years’ experience in a telecommunications or low voltage related field.
- Five years’ experience in managing employees and subcontractors in a residential production building environment.
- AS Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Systems Management, Telecommunications or Wireless desirable but not required.
- Exceptional computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn new software and reporting packages, experience with QuickBooks and/or D-Tools a plus.
- Knowledge of developing technologies as they relate to residential real estate.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Proven ability to deliver superior customer service.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Congenial and personable with a very strong work ethic; team player with a contagious positive energy.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Must be in good physical condition to perform job duties as outlined above. Job duties may require extended periods of sitting at a computer and standing on job sites.

- Must be able to communicate in English effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to navigate through rough and uneven terrain.
