Behavioral Technicians participate in providing a health care experience that empowers our customers and their families to live life better. Responsibilities: * As a member of the interdependent team led by a designated RN, assists with the achievement of patient and unit outcomes by performing patient care duties and activities for a group of patients * Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards * Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes * Demonstrates commitment to the universal guiding principles of the patient care model in order to achieve the HealthEast Nursing Vision * Supports the Nursing Process to achieve outcome focused patient care * Communicates effectively with patient/family, the interdependent team and other disciplines regarding the care of the patient * Achieves customer service excellence by understanding the needs of all internal and external customers (patients, families and physicians) * Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned. Qualifications: * Associate's Degree Required. Bachelors degree in Psychology/Chemical dependency or related field preferred * 1 year experience in Mental Health preferred * Basic Live Support through the American Heart Association * Computer Skills Basic: Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (use a mouse, navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc) * Crisis Intervention: Ability to identify, assess, understand, and cope with a serious situation, especially from the moment it first occurs to the point that recovery procedures start * Medical Terminology/Spelling: Familiar with medical terminology and medical spelling * Patient Care Delivery: Observes and collects pertinent data and/or clinical findings to enhance patient outcomes * Patient Education: Provides patient educational information appropriate to the developmental level, learning needs, readiness, cultural values, and beliefs of patients and families * Patient Safety: Demonstrates practices that support safety with recognition of variations in populations served, preventing harm to patients, families, employees, and themselves About HealthEast At HealthEast, our patients are our neighbors and we are dedicated to their, and our, optimal health and well-being.
