The Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orlando, Florida invites applicants to apply for the position of Part-time Parking Enforcement Supervisor. (Part time will be considered no less than 32 hours/4 days a week and up to 39 hours.)

Job Summary:

Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Volunteer Parking Enforcement Unit and agency participation with the Community Traffic Safety Team. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
  • No illegal drug usage within the past two years, all other usage will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License. Must attend and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training. Use of agency vehicle would require good driving history and passing agency biennial driver’s physical exam.
  • Must successfully complete the following: Parking Enforcement Specialist Academy, field training with training officer, Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training or mature driving school, and Sexual Harassment Training.
  • Must have basic computer skills to include using word processing, email, spreadsheets, and database applications (e.g., Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be FCIC/NCIC certified within one (1) year of accepting this position.  
  • Ability to organize and coordinate aspects of volunteer programs and special activities such as the Parking Enforcement Specialist Academy by arranging and/or delivering instruction to volunteers and/or employees from other agencies and assisting with equipment and classroom set-up/troubleshooting.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate Community Traffic Safety Team operations, such as Click it or Ticket, DUI Checkpoints, DUI Saturation Patrols, and the Motor Unit Challenge. Ability to coordinate and assemble volunteers for special details to assist law enforcement at community service functions, parking enforcement operations, traffic control, funeral escorts, and traffic related checkpoints.
  • Ability to coordinate sector patrols for parking related issues.
  • Ability to address parking complaints, and arrange for towing of unauthorized vehicles from county right of ways.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and/or push/pull up to 50 pounds (e.g., training equipment).  

 

Salary Range: $12.84/hour or $13.49/hour with 3+ years of experience
