Tax Manager This person will be responsible for: Income Tax Prepare work papers and supporting schedules for federal and state income tax returns Detailed review of tax returns as prepared by our tax prep firm Research income tax issues as needed Sales Tax Preparation and filing of monthly sales and local tax returns Research sales tax issues and advise operations on sales tax collection Personal property tax returns and payments Heavy duty equipment tax returns Business license applications and renewals Federal excise tax returns Heavy vehicle use tax returns Dealer license applications and renewals IFTA and IRP renewals Coordinate response and work paper preparation for income tax, sales tax and other types of governmental audits Serve as the key resource for answering questions, identifying savings opportunities, and identifying and researching issues related to income, sales and use, and property tax.
Review monthly financial statements and serve as Accounting Department contact for select operating centers.
Requirements: Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Tax Minimum eight years senior level experience in preparing federal and state income tax returns for C-Corps, S-Corps and partnerships and reviewing/preparing income tax provisions Experience with IRS audits Organized and detail oriented Good tax research skills Strong Excel skills Good communication skills Able to work autonomously, willing to be involved in all levels of compliance effort, from high level planning to process level execution Strong knowledge base of corporate income tax law and return preparation.
Preparing monthly sales tax returns, etc.
This is NOT a supervisory role A stable work history is required
