Position Title:Account Manager Reports To:Team Lead Segment:Petcare Family:Customer Business Development Function:Sales Location:Tampa, Florida Area Home Office Level of Role Individual contributor Purpose of Role The Account Manager is responsible for managing the Petcare category business o for Publix with significant category impact by brand and pack. This position exists to ensure the delivery of gross sales value and scorecard measures to include dollar share growth for Mars Petcare US for the assigned business segments. Accountable for budgetary management, profitable business growth via the achievement of specific gross sales value, market share, brand, pack, merchandising and distribution targets. Principal Accountabilities Responsible for achieving profitable sales and share growth in alignment with sales plan goals/objectives. Responsible for the tactical, daily execution of the business to include merchandising objectives, new item acceptance, budget adherence, and building customer relationships at buyer level. Ensure flawless tactical execution of all merchandising and new item launches resulting in achievement of sales plan goals. Key point person for customer on items relating to daily operations of the business (pricing, allowances, deduction management, etc) Responsible for the development of effective and productive relationships within all levels of customer responsibility, as well as within the sales business unit and Cross-Functional Teams. Work with cross functional / sales business unit resources to develop execution plans that align with the sales business unit strategies. Analyze business opportunities and provide input into the development of go-to-market (i.e. new item launches, trade deployment, pack creation, etc.) plans and activity sets. Work collaboratively with demand planning to provide annual and ongoing customer forecasting for new product concepts, initiatives, and annual brand plans. Provide input in the area of collaborative planning, recommending new approaches and processes that ensure better customer planning, input, and alignment of improved activity sets. Position must analyze and communicate the future and emerging needs within assigned segments so that Mars Petcare US is in a position to compete and lead change within the Channel. Fiscal responsibility, specifically associated with developing, managing and delivering a sound, financial plan for the account and maintaining a year end position that is within +/- 5% of $'s available. Working with sales business unit to secure and deliver incremental funding that maximizes efficiency. Delivering a positive ROI contribution on trade spending. Minimum Qualifications 3 year(s) of experience in direct selling experience, preferable in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree program in a related field, or equivalent work experience. Successful completion of a drug and background screen Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience in direct selling experience, preferable in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry Experience managing Publix business at HQ Masters degree in Business/Marketing Every associate at Mars has responsibility for the achievement of quality and food safety.
