Job Summary:
Provides strategic management, direction, and leadership to the staff of the Records Section. Oversees the day-to-day Records and Identification functions and processes. Responsibilities include approving payroll; interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
- Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
- No illegal drug usage within the past two years, all other usage will be evaluated on an individual basis.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college or university in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or related field; and five (5) years’ experience in records management in the public sector with two (2) years of progressively responsible managerial experience; or an Associates of Arts degree (A.A.) or equivalent in a related field and seven (7) years’ experience in records management in the public sector with two (2) years of progressively responsible managerial experience. Experience in a law enforcement environment strongly preferred.
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training. Use of agency vehicle would require appropriate driving history and passing agency biennial driver’s physical exam.
- Must be able to be FCIC/NCIC certified within six months of employment.
- Must have intermediate computer skills to include using word processing, email, spreadsheets, and database applications (e.g., Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to interact with irate and /or mentally unbalanced citizens in a professional manner.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, groups of managers and supervisors, agency employees, other agencies, and the general public.
- Must have the ability to express, apply, and demonstrate thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of records dissemination and retention laws; local, state, and federal legislative, regulatory, and judicial requirements.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Salary Range: $66,934 - $87,464 (depending on level of previous experience)
