Finance Manager

Through innovative direction and in a unique partnership with the Walt Disney World Resort, the YMCA of Central Florida is looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our team as the Finance Manager for our two state-of-the-art licensed child care learning facilities; with programming open 365 days a year.

This individual will have a broad set of critical and integral responsibilities related to all accounting functions, including cash receipts, payroll, accounts payable and assisting in the preparation of the operating budget. S/he administers approved accounting policies and procedures for both YMCA Disney Learning Centers, as well as ensures preparation of complete and accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. 

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who has built a consistent career of professional excellence and achievement in the workplace, can execute well, has the ability to collaborate with a corporate senior management finance team, flourish in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and highly deadline driven environment and is comfortable working with multiple locations.

Education, Training and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; in a related field. MBA preferred.
  2. Four to six years related experience and/or training.
  3. Working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports.
  4. Demonstrated ability to interpret economic conditions and anticipate the impact on the organization.
  5. Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
  6. Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
  7. Ability to work with all levels of management.
  8. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  9. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. 
  10. Proven leadership and business acumen skills
  11. Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates.
  12. Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  14. Understanding of and experience in GAAP are required.
  15. Proficiency in computerized accounting systems required; EZ-Care and/or Oracle experience a plus.
  16. Microsoft Office proficiency required. Advanced spreadsheet proficiency required.
