MEMBERSHIP (SALES) DIRECTOR

The YMCA of Central Florida has an exciting opportunity for a Membership (Sales) Director. This individual must have the ability to drive sales and create an environment that delivers world class customer service to grow membership and program participation, as well as be an advocate of health and wellness. This position will provide daily supervision to the membership services / front desk staff, s/he will oversee relationship building with members, staff, volunteers and guests, as well as drive all aspects of customer sales and member service engagement and retention. The incumbent will serve in a key visible role within the Family Center’s leadership team and will work directly with all program areas to ensure service excellence is at the highest level. Critical competencies include – sales and customer service management, staff management, outcome and standards measurement, community collaborations and fiscal management.

S/he will provide leadership for membership campaigns, special events and will represent the Y at community functions and creating awareness of the many benefits of YMCA membership. The incumbent should display a professional, outgoing and energetic demeanor as well as be able to prioritize multiple tasks and work well in a fast-pace environment.

This individual will be responsible for leading tours to perspective members and ensuring membership revenue goals are met by daily, weekly, monthly, and annual targets. This individual must display a professional appearance and refinement to represent the Y’s image and brand within the facility, as well as at community events and national functions. S/he must have superior verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management, staff, members, volunteers, vendors and guests. 

The incumbent will also drive many aspects of member services with key emphasis on membership growth by connecting and engaging with members, potential members and program participants. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; sales, marketing, communications, wellness or related field of study preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, marketing, wellness or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in staff supervision and leadership preferred.
  • Strong skills in leading and motivating staff to achieve targeted goals and measurable outcomes.
  • YMCA membership, wellness or operations experience a plus.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required; Oracle and Fitlinxx experience a plus.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal, public relations and communication skills.
  • Previous YMCA, Healthcare, or related fitness industry sales management experience, a plus
