Receptionist – YMCA Corporate Office (Downtown, Orlando)

Status:  Full-time, Hourly / Non-exempt 

Overview:             

The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking an experienced and highly professional corporate office Receptionist to join our busy and fast paced team. This is a highly visible and critical position within the organization. S/he must be a self-starter, skilled in multi-tasking, answering multiple phones and providing administrative support for a large corporate office staff team. This individual will ensure the professional appearance of the front desk/lobby area at all times and ensure an efficient front desk and back-office experience. 

This individual must have superior phone etiquette, verbal, written, and individual communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff, including chief officers, executives, management, VIP guests, board members, volunteers, vendors and the general public. S/he will receive, sort and distribute incoming mail, and courier documentation from the 27 Central Florida YMCA locations, as well as work with multiple vendors to ensure seamless business operations and anticipate needs. 

S/he will be responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of all office supplies and equipment supplies (toner, paper, etc.) to ensure the smooth operation of the Corporate Office.  S/he performs a wide range of administrative duties; this position requires some physical demands such as sitting and/or standing, bending, for extended periods of time, lifting approximately 30 lbs, regular use of telephone, copier, fax and computer. Demands also include concentration. Reliable transportation is required.

Schedule: Full-time; Monday - Friday; 8:25 am to 5:30 pm with occasional extended hours may be required.

Qualifications:   

  • Minimum age 21 years or older
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in a busy professional corporate office environment with 50+ employees required. Providing support for multiple locations highly preferred.  
  • Minimum 2 years experience of ordering and maintaining inventory of all office supplies and equipment supplies (toner, paper, copier etc.).
  • High School graduate required, college degree a plus!
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Must possess a professional manner, superior customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills,  efficient multi-tasking skills, attention to detail and flexibility.
  • Must be highly organized and anticipate the needs of others. 
  • Previous experience interacting with high level VIP clients, Executives, Chief Officers, Boards, all levels of staff and guests is highly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer service role; fast paced and high volume hospitality industry experience also a plus.  
  • Previous experience working with confidential information.
  • Bilingual; fluent in English and Spanish highly preferred.
