Position Title: Administrator, School Food Service Nutritionist, Database and Special Diets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or consumer science with nutrition emphasis. Three (3) years of experience in management, leadership or human resources related area, preferably in a restaurant/food services industry Must be a registered dietitian Must have knowledge in food and nutrition services processes. Five (5) years of experience in nutrition education with at least two (2) years of successful experience in training, managing, or leadership role in food service is preferred. ServSafe certification is preferred Must possess valid Serve Safe certificate or be able to obtain one within first six (6) months in position.
Job Goal:
To contribute to establishing organizational priorities and provide/obtain adequate resources to accomplish the department’s mission to ensure safe, high-quality customer and food service for the district’s schools.
Salary: Beginning at $54,000 plus based on years of experience
Major responsibilities:
- Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, and courteous manner.
- Maintains FNS database for product nutrition, ingredient content, and recipe compliance to meet federal, state, and district guidelines.
- Provide mandatory federal & state reports to ensure accountability for all nutrition-related regulations.
- Develop short and long-term goals related to special diets and education through strategic planning.
- Review, evaluate and disseminate nutrition resources for the management of special diets within the district. Assess special diet training needs through collection of surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
- Plans and attends job fairs and explore other ways of finding quality FNS staff.
