Construction Estimator / Superintendent

Description:  This position requires an experienced Estimator, whom has worked with a General Contractor in the construction of facilities, store fronts, hotels, buildings and other structures.

This job and others similar (of which Visium is currently recruiting) would have a preference for candidates experienced as a Construction Owners Representative and/or Superintendent responsibilities.

This position would participate in bid evaluations prior to contract award on select projects based on dollar amount and complexity; Partner with and support the IFP Representative, Program Manager and Project Manager to evaluate IFP work orders and determine the IFP budgets; Cost accounting, directive review and change order administration; Negotiate and settle directives with contractors and vendors; Assist as needed with scope development, project scheduling and project controls; Assist in sourceable commodity cost data studies for future projects; Review and incorporate historical cost and program data from previous projects, subcontracts, analysis reports etc., into estimates; Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back up estimated figures; Provide design staff and project team with cost guidance during all design phases of a project; Assist in developing total project Estimated Final Cost (EFC) with project teams; Assist in benchmarking studies for both internal and external resources. Provide trend estimates and analysis against current EFC/Budget estimate on select projects; Conduct labor cost analysis to maintain accurate labor cost.

Requirements: 

• HM is looking for someone with hands-on experience and understands construction enough to know what it takes to build and the costs associated with it. 
• Requires candidates with a 4-year degree in Finance, Business Admin, Accounting, Construction or Engineering. Industry experience is crucial. 
• Will be trained on custom made program, but having experience in "off the shelf" estimating programs is key. 
• Looking for someone who is an "entrepreneur" and self sufficient; someone who can walk in and get the job done. 
• Collaborative and engaging communication skills are important.
