Job Title: Airport Coordinator
Department: Village Vacation Planning Services
Reports To: Director of Mission Delivery and Outreach
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Every GKTW wish family is welcomed to Central Florida at the Orlando International Airport, Sanford Orlando Airport and Kissimmee Amtrak Station
- Audit all flights/train and ground transportation, three days before arrival. Following up with WGO and/or VVPS Planner as necessary
- Schedule volunteers
- Greet wish families when necessary
- All qualified Wish families receive appropriate assistance upon arrival and departure
- Maintain good relations with on-site groups and companies at the Orlando International Airport (including TSA)
- Every Airport volunteer receives a positive experience, causing them to make a personal commitment to the GKTW Mission and to fulfilling the objective of the Airport operations
- Properly recruit, train, schedule, recognize, and retain volunteers
- Ensure all volunteer badging and background checks are up to date
- Keep volunteers informed on Village happenings
- Maintain inventory of all volunteer supplies including, but not limited to uniforms, snacks, drinks, office supplies
- All incidents occurring during the arrival process are documented and resolved immediately
- Maintain a daily activity report – distributed appropriately to management and fellow team members
- Follow up on all negative guest comments within 24 hours of receiving information
PHYSICAL DEMANDS BEYOND NORMAL OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to walk the entire airport during each shift
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Aptitude and willingness to learn new systems including our Access based reservations system, RAVEN
- Self-Starter/Independent worker
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous volunteer coordinator experience is a plus
- Hospitality background is a plus
*Work Schedule: Primarily nights and weekends. Tentative work schedule is 4:30 pm -10 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
