Orion Management LLC, A Veteran-Owned, Small Business and global infrastructure provider is seeking an experienced security, fire, life safety and electrical services applications Sales Engineer for our Southeast division office which is located on Merritt Island, Florida.

The successful candidate will have the ability to sell survey and prepare detailed and accurate solutions and cost estimates.

This requires a highly motivated professional and organized individual who can work in a fast paced Commercial and Government business environment.

Additionally, the candidate must have a proven sales track record in the aforementioned areas of expertise.

The will require consultation with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments and field personnel to discuss and formulate solutions and estimates for these important projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & REQUIRED BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Viable local relationships with Federal and Commercial property owners, property managers, and end users.

The successful candidate will require strong prospecting skills and a proven ability to close along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Establish contact with new prospective and qualified potential buyers of Security, Fire, Life Safety and Electrical services by scheduling sales calls, following up of leads and outline marketing strategies.

Determine customer needs by conducting site surveys and communicating effectively to educate the customer about Orion Management LLC capabilities.

Develop and maintain new and existing customer relationships.

Develop and maintain an active proposal backlog to support an established sales plan.

Ensures proper application of systems products to meet customer requirements.

Ensures proper application of systems products to meet customer requirements.

Make detailed specification and drawing reviews.

Employs a variety of estimating methods to present accurate costing factors for labor, material, equipment, tools, vehicles, and ODCs.

Develops estimate timeline and schedule of internal and external cost/price deliverables.

Employs cost modeling in the estimating software Accubid, consistent with the solution design.

Ensures that accurate and sufficient supporting cost documentation is provided to ensure compliant internal and external audit posture.

Participates in cost reviews.

Responsible for soliciting/reviewing Subcontractor proposals and assisting with pricing, contract negotiations, and identifies scope gaps.

Supports Project Managers in negotiations to change orders.

Works closely with the Proposal Manager in developing a compliant pricing and technical response.

Preparation and coordination of bid documents, production, subcontractor and vendor pricing, and project turnover to Project Manager.

Accurate and timely performance of takeoffs, calculations and analyzation of data.

Makes well-supported recommendations on how to mitigate price risks.

Prepare solicitation list for subcontractors and suppliers for each project and market sector.

Prepares construction schedules showing construction sequence.

Conducts review of self-performing and subcontracted estimates.

Provide justifications for calculations, clarify questions regarding the bid content, and explain recommended approach.

Participates in bid review meetings along with members of management and the project team.

Some travel may be required.

EXPERIENCE AND Minimum of 10 years Sales Engineering and field work experience on large commercial and federal projects.

Working knowledge of Access Control Configuration Management, Video Management, and Intrusion Detections systems.

Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.

), estimating and scheduling systems such as Accubid and Primavera, plan and spec reading.

Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to, read and interpret contract and to engineering drawings.

High attention to detail and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

Security systems manufacturers certifications a plus.
