Description.
Installation of work area outlets for floor, modular furniture and wall terminated CAT 3,5 and 6 RJ45 jacks.
Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly.
Build closets to include mounting and installing backboards, and variouspunch down blocks, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic (LIU s) and hardware.
Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
Perform testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable, use of volt-ohmmeter, troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts and transposed pairs on horizontal and riser cable, use a tone out set.
Install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA and MPO/MTP connectors, for both multi-mode & single-mode fiber.
Terminate simplex & duplex jumper cord.
Terminate & breakout outside plant loose tube fiber e.

Terminate & breakout outside plant loose tube fiber e.

Terminate indoor tight buffered multimode and single-mode fiber.
Install fan out kits including buffer tube.
Test and splice fiber.
Testing: Test using an OTDR, Fluke DTX 1800.
Troubleshoot using an OTDR to identify and correct problems end to end, and Network wide.
Splicing: Perform mechanical splicing with all types of fiber cable.
Perform fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable.
Perform building entrance splices, maintenance space, and direct buried splices.
Skills/ High School Diploma.
4+ years trade/vocational school or related work experience preferred.
Experience splicing, tipping, testing and terminating fiber required.
Experience with multi-mode and single-mode fiber required.
Experience with ST, SC, LC, MT-RJ preferred.
Fiber certifications preferred (ex.
BISCI).
Minimum Physical Job Able lift 50 pounds or more.
Able to climb ladders.
Able to frequently bend, sit, and stand for long periods of time .
Able to crawl into small and/or confined spaces.
Good communication skills required.
Pay Range: Pay based on your level of experience and past performance.
