Wyndham Vacation Ownership is currently seeking a Manager, IT Solutions Development & Delivery in Orlando, Florida.  This position directs and manages a team of individuals responsible for Wyndham Vacation Ownership’s software development and delivery organization. Manage development staff in the full software development lifecycle in the development and support of new features, functions and capabilities and timely delivery of end-to-end IT solutions. Project work range from project oversight, workload estimations, management of timelines, resource planning and leading teams to meet deliverables on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead technical design, development and implementation of enterprise software development and delivery initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Project Managers and technical directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and lead development and integration efforts. Interfaces and coordinates tasks with onshore and offshore vendors and resources for delivery and support.
  • Provides expertise to identify and translate system requirements into software design documentation. Leads development of formalized solution methodologies, software development standards and tools.
  • Responsible for recommending and integrating information technology with process improvement initiatives.
  • Execute all appropriate administrative and supervisory tasks related to the team including but not limited to resource needs, assessment, hiring, training, performance and merit review.
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through effective utilization of resources and tools.
  • Performs other duties as needed. 

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science, or equivalent years of experience and training
  • Master's Degree is a plus

Technical Skills

  • At least 7 years of broad and in-depth development experience using Java, J2EE, Services-oriented application development (SOA), and ESB
  • Strong, proven experience with automated build, deployment and continuous integration tools strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with AS400 and IBM Mainframe systems, COBOL, RPG and similar technology languages/frameworks a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Web Applications and call center technologies
  • Familiarity with Oracle, SQL and Microsoft environments

Job Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of technical work experience in progressively responsible roles
  • Minimum 7 years as a developer, analyst, engineer or technical support professional
  • Minimum 5 years management/supervisory experience  for a development organization
  • Minimum 3 years of managing large IT technology projects
  • Demonstrated experience in leading software development teams that cross platforms and technologies
  • Experience in large 24x7 production IT operations
  • Hospitality industry IT is a plus
