Maintenance Mechanic

TERM: Full Time to Hire

SUMMARY: Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned:

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using diagnostic meters, gauges and controls.

Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using forklift, hoists, and hand and power tools.

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues related to equipment.

Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Previous maintenance experience required in a factory setting

Formal and/or on the job training in mechanical and/or electrical disciplines

Working knowledge of high and low voltage equipment

Must have a flexible work schedule - overtime, weekends, and schedule changes may occur as business needs dictate.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, work in extreme heat and be exposed to loud noises.
