Position Summary
Serves as a key onsite IT resource for implementation and support of medical imaging applications across the health system. Primary responsibilities include implementing medical imaging applications, administering and supporting PACS, Cardiovascular PACS, and technical medical imaging interfaces and related technologies (e.g., voice recognition, critical test results management, RIS, etc.), supporting other LRH medical imaging services, and providing primary support as a local medical imaging subject matter expert to resolve incidents or fulfill requests received from the Help Desk or application users. Ensures system design, interface functionality, and clinical processes are coordinated and functioning effectively. This individual performs application maintenance and testing of application upgrades and fixes. Provides input to health system policies and procedures, training, and best practices for use within the facility, delivers hands-on training, and assists in implementing health systems standardization, utilization, integration and optimization plans for medical imaging applications and related technologies. Provides 24/7/365 support as needed.
Position Details
- Standard Work Duties: Enterprise Imaging Informatics Administrator
- Serves as a key onsite IT resource for implementation and support of medical imaging applications across the health system
- Administers and supports PACS, CVIS PACS, and technical medical imaging informatics interfaces and related technologies (e.g., voice recognition, critical test results management, RIS, etc.)
- Provides primary support as a local medical imaging subject matter expert to resolve incidents or fulfill requests received from the Help Desk or application users; provides status on user issues.
- Works with enterprise subject matter experts and services resources and the health system service desk in managing resolution of medical imaging informatics application incidents and requests.
- Ensures medical imaging system design, interface functionality, and clinical processes are coordinated and functioning effectively. Performs medical imaging informatics application maintenance and testing.
- Works with the Imaging and Clinical Ancillary Systems Team to actively promote and implement health system standardization, utilization, integration and optimization plans for medical imaging applications.
- Participates in the testing and implementation of clinical applications where medical imaging applications integrate with those clinical applications.
- Works with the health system as a subject matter expert on medical imaging applications for physicians and their offices, to ensure physicians can access images at hospitals, offices, and homes.
- Coordinate with team members to provide 24/7/365 Support as needed.
- Participate in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
Education Essential: * Bachelor Degree
Education Equivalent Experience: * Imaging Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Radiology, or an IT related field
Licenses Preferred: Licensure as Radiologic Technologist in the State of Florida or Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or Registered by the ARDMS in any discipline of medical sonography, or Registered by the ARRT in a medical imaging discipline.
Certifications Essential: Certified by the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) as a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) or certified by the PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association (PARCA) as a Certified Healthcare Enterprise Architect (CHEA) within 24 months of hire date
Experience Essential: Four years of experience in medical imaging applications support including, but not limited to, Radiology/Cardiology PACS, HIS, RIS, VR, etc.
Experience in large, complex organization or corporate structured environment. Experience creating and leading communications with senior leaders, business partners, and vendors to ensure collaboration, efficiency, and service excellence.
