KidsTown Presenter.  Part time position.  We are seeking a friendly, outgoing and cheerful individual to provide quality daily programming for the Science Center’s youngest learners. This position reports directly to the Manager of KidsTown.  The daily functions of this position will be to deliver programming to our early childhood learners for the KidsTown department and Membership department.  The KidsTown Presenter will be expected to complete tasks with minimal supervision, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide exemplary guest service
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills

Expected Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe, fun and friendly presence for all visitors in KidsTown and any other exhibits pertaining to Early Childhood.
  • Maintain high quality of KidsTown and early childhood areas by replenishing exhibit and program materials and supplies.
  • Facilitate special member events, monthly content, and special early childhood programming.

EDUCATION:  Degree seeking or hold a two year degree in early childhood education, psychology, or museum studies.

EXPERIENCE:  The candidate should have experience teaching children (age 8 and under) either informally or in a classroom setting.  The candidate should have strong guest service skills.  Strong written and oral communication is required.  Customer service experience and experience speaking in front of large audiences is desirable.

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • A valid Florida driver’s license, ability to drive a van, maintain a clear driving record, and retain driving approval through OSC’s insurance company.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience performing improv or any theater experience
  • Experience developing curriculum for informal education facilities
  • Experience developing curriculum for children 0-4 years of age

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must be able to stand and kneel for long periods and be able to lift 30 lbs.
