POSITION OBJECTIVE
To maintain all buildings and equipment throughout the hotel and Reunion property as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform interior and exterior painting, staining, varnishing, patching, plaster and drywall, caulking, and sanding. Use of paint spray equipment, both airless and cup gun and use of spray texture equipment.
- Prioritize work orders through urgent requests and established hotel area down times in order to minimize inconveniencing guests.
- Respond to guest room calls as required.
- Complete any and all assigned preventative maintenance procedures.
- Adhere to hotel safety standards.
- Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned by Manager.
- Assist other departmental craft workers as required.
- Perform all duties required as Fire Alarm Response Team.
- Participate in OSHA/Safety programs within the hotel through awareness in every day job functions and participate on the Hotel’s Emergency Evacuation Team.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. High school or equivalent education required.
- Must have minimum of three years hands-on experience working with painting, plastering, textures, and spraying.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the hotel.
- Must promote a cordial and caring attitude toward all other department heads.
- Highly motivated self starter.
- Experience in all phases of mechanical/electrical systems.
- Appropriate technical schooling would be helpful.
- Blueprint reading.
- Ability to communicate with hotel guests.
- May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- To deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- This position requires flexibility in scheduling – rotating schedules, AM/PM shifts, weekends and holidays.
