Job Title: Development and Sales Manager
Department: Development
Reports to: Director of Development
The Development and Sales Manager is responsible for the recruitment, development, cultivation, and activation of organizations, corporations and individuals while sustaining relationships, within the amusement industry, leading assigned events and meeting fundraising objectives of Give Kids the World.
The position will be a key member of an entrepreneurial, action-oriented, mission-driven Development team, reporting to and working directly with the Director of Development and closely with other team members to strategically plan and implement a comprehensive fundraising development program with the goal of expanding the donor base and increasing revenue streams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and actively participates in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of amusement, corporate and company partners including community fundraisers and events
- Manage and successfully implement numerous special events that align with the strategic plan and meet/exceed annual fundraising goals
- Acknowledging, stewarding and growing fundraising resources
- Make periodic visits, explore specific needs, and resolve problems in order to build and maintain constituent relationships
- Represent Give Kids The World as an official spokesperson at tradeshows, presentations, and awareness functions on Village property as well as externally in the community and nationally
- Provides a high degree of expertise within his/her area with both internal and external contacts
PHYSICAL DEMANDS BEYOND NORMAL OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to travel locally, nationally and internally. Some overnight travel necessary
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including battery-operated golf cart
- Ability to lift and transfer 25 lbs.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends on and off property
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of the amusement industry – trends, seasons, recurring events, etc.
- Relationship with industry trade publications and enthusiast groups
- Prepare written materials, including correspondence, solicitation materials, briefing materials, acknowledgements, and other items to promote special events and for donor solicitation
- Proven track record of success increasing financial results and building upon relationships
- Business acumen and fiscal responsibility
- Experience with Salesforce and online fundraising software, Teamraiser and all MS Office products
- Work independently and take initiative to creatively and effectively solve problems
- Ability to anticipate and satisfy customer needs through excellent customer service
- Positive attitude required
- Self-starter who is results oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Team player with ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships with colleagues and volunteers
- Ability to lead, direct and inspire colleagues, sponsors, and volunteers
- Superior oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate the need for and benefits of supporting Give Kids The World
- Exceptional organization skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of three to five years of directly related fundraising, amusement industry and events experience
