**Pharmaceutical in the Orlando area is looking for a 2nd shift Production Supervisor**

Position, Purpose and Objectives

The packaging supervisor will be responsible for the overall daily operations of the Packaging Department, while working with minimal supervision from management.

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitor shift activities; provide direct instruction to Line Leaders and production personnel.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production demands
  • Train, supervise, monitor and review the performance of line leaders, annually or as needed.
  • Evaluate manpower levels, focusing on machine capacities with maximum efficiency of employee strengths
  • Daily evaluation of production lines to ensure maximum output with minimal labor.
  • Understand company goals and evaluate line speeds, and labor to ensure that company targets are met or exceeded daily.
  • Provide leadership and direction to all packaging personnel, while continuously working to achieve company goals.
  • Process the administration needs to include employee schedules, time keeping and payroll for your shift
  • Follow the daily (shift) production schedule and communicate with management as needed.
  • Responsible for production related communication and coordination between affected departments
  • Generate and process all pertinent reports (i.e. Production records, investigations, etc.)
  • Responsible for safety and security of the production area
  • Complete line audits
  • Administer and communicate corporate policy and procedures to employees and agencies.
  • Write injury investigation as necessary
  • Serve as backup to the Production Manager
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position in a manufacturing environment with 25 to 100 associates
  • Knowledge of computers and programs contained with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with cGMP procedures and knowledge of safety , OSHA regulations
  • Ability  to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculation
  • Able to participate in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others
  • Demonstrate safe behavior and support department/plant Safety goals in a continuous process improvement
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends before and after schedule as needed
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Must be flexible to work nights and/or weekends when required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Supervisory Responsibility

Assign daily operation requirements to Shift Packaging Department Supervisors and oversee the coordination and execution of those requirements.

Working Conditions

Daily interaction with higher-level management and quality assurance personnel. Standing, bending, stooping and walking for more than 8 hours daily. Cleanroom facility, both climate and non-climate controlled environments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have 2+ years packaging line and management experience.
  • Must be able to organize planning requirements with daily operations for the fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Good communication, math, and problem solving skills.
  • Have ability to train and develop staff in the Packaging Department.

2nd Shift: 3:30pm - 12:00am (must be able to work overtime, including weekends)
Temp to Hire: Will go in as a lead to then transition into a supervisor role.
