The Bartender is responsible for a high level of guest service.  Ensures that all beverage service is provided to guests in a most professional and efficient manner while ensuring that the department is operating in compliance with all P & P and cost controls.


 Responsibilities:           

  1. To assist in the implementation of a beverage menu concept that appeals to our in-house guest that will increase the outlets capture ratio and revenues per occupied room as compared to budget.
  2. Ensure that the department complies with all health department regulations on a day to day basis.
  3. To ensure that all bar areas are stocked and cleaned at all times.
  4. Assist bar manager with all beverage ordering.
  5. Operate POS systems in a expedient manner.
  6. Full knowledge on how to make all basis drinks so that guests are serviced in the most efficient manner.
  7. Assist with all special bar promotions.
  8. To ensure that operation is working on a requisition bottle for bottle pull system.
  9. To ensure that all P & P and checklist are being implemented and executed on a day-to-day basis.
  10. Conduct focus groups to ensure that the department is meeting and exceeding the guest’s expectations.
  11. Keep all beverage areas clean and organized including both front and back-of-the-house areas.
  12. Ensure that you are in a clean proper uniform with your respective name badge.
  13. Ensure that a jigger is used when pouring liquor.
  14. Ensure that a check is issued for every item ordered by a guest.
  15. To ensure that the department has adequate supplies to meet the operational needs.
  16. Assist with all catered / banquet functions.
  17. Assist as required in inducting, orient and training of assigned personnel to meet their departmental responsibilities.
  18. Operate in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and government regulations.
  19. Maintain and ensure a high level of professionalism throughout the department and staff.
  20. Ensure that all staff members smile and greet all guests and co-workers.
  21. Expedite special projects as requested within the time frame required.
  22. Communicate effectively with all departments.
  23. Conduct monthly departmental meetings with staff.
  24. Participate, train and develop staff on all property emergency procedures that protect both our guests and employees on a day to day basis.
  25. Maintain a safe and secure environment at all times for both the employees and guests.

Job Requirements:

  1. Previous bartender experience (3-5 years minimum).
  2. Must be 21 years of age or older.
  3. Well rounded knowledge in beverage department.
  4. Product knowledge.
  5. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  6. Accurate forecasting abilities.
  7. Must be able to work flexible shifts
  8. Must be able to operate the POS system
  9. Must have basic mathematical skills
