At Cru, our Digital Products and Services department creates and innovates technology solutions for the global Church that help to make disciples. We call it Digital Missions.

Who we’re looking For:

We’re looking for a User Interface Designer who eats, breathes and sleeps design. Have you ever filled your weekend with designing a website, app concept or new font just because? Do you figure out User Journey solutions on long walks and then race back home to prototype them? But maybe that’s not enough. You want more. You want to see your designs come to life and make a difference in this world. But maybe that too isn’t enough. You want to be a difference maker for the sake of the Gospel and help make Jesus known to the ends of the earth.

About the UX/UI/Design Team:

You’ll be working directly with our UX team. The UX team is responsible for the design and architecture of Cru’s web and mobile apps. The UX team is made up of user experience designers, visual designers, software engineers and researchers. None of our team has ended up here by chance. All our staff have made clear choices to answer God’s call in their lives leaving successful positions in various industries to pull together and preach Christ through digital solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

• Researching and Diagnosing Design Solutions
• Designing Wireframes and Sitemaps
• Refining Wireframes and Paper sketches into Digital Designs
• Ideating and Creating with other team members
• Working closely with UX Researchers and users
• Building interactive prototypes
• Getting Hands on Training from Senior Team Members
• Getting Training through Conferences
• Drinking & Making Coffee
• Going to Company Parties

Skills you need to have:

• Thorough Experience with Sketch and/or Adobe XD
• Thorough Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Ability to Rapidly sketch concepts and ideas
• Ability to sketch many solutions and ideas surrounding a problem
• Pixel Perfect Mockups
• Ability to present ideas to peers and leadership teams
• Ability to Research New and Old Concepts
• Strong Communication Skills (Verbal and Textual)
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS/Javascript
• Be a Mac/Apple User
• Some type of visual design degree and/or strong ability to communicate using design terminology and principles.
• Present design concepts and negotiate with product owners to arrive at a design that supports both the organization objectives and end users
• Experience creating sitemaps, wireframes, and customer journeys

Tools and Skills we utilize daily:

• Experience with Sketch App
• Experience using Post-it Notes
• Human-Centered Design know-how
• Freelance design experience
• Loves coffee more than puppies and kittens

Requirements:

• Deep love for Jesus Christ
• Deep desire to share the Gospel with the world
• Willingness to receive and respond to feedback (it’s not personal)
• Living in or willing to relocate to Orlando, Florida
• College Degree in a Visual Design field
• 5 years of experience as a Visual Designer
• Strong portfolio that demonstrates UI design and UX thinking
