SUMMARY

At Cru Headquarters, perform skilled electrical work in the repair, maintenance, alteration and construction of ministry buildings, facilities and equipment; install, repair, service and maintain electrical systems and equipment in a safe condition and in compliance with all applicable codes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspect, repair, install, service, and maintain electrical and lighting systems, equipment and fixtures including conduit and duct systems, lighting and power circuits, transformers, control equipment, switches, switchboards, plugs, lights, circuit breakers, fans, fire alarms, clocks, heating and air conditioning controls. Installs or replaces necessary interior and exterior wiring for equipment, appliances and lighting. Troubleshoot electrical systems to locate defects or malfunctions; replace fuses, cords and sockets.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:  
Knowledge of National Electrical, Electrical Safety Codes of the Division of Industrial Safety, and local electrical ordinances. OSHA safety regulations regarding electrical work Standard tools, equipment, methods and techniques used in the skilled electrical trade. Operation and maintenance of specialized and standard tools, equipment and machinery used in the electrical trade. Basic electrical theory and calculation of formulas. Trouble shooting techniques applied to digital and analog circuits.

Ability to perform skilled electrical work in the repair, maintenance, alteration and construction of buildings and facilities. Repair, install and perform maintenance of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment. Make arithmetic calculations related to specialty quickly and accurately. Work from blueprints, shop drawings, schematics and sketches and recommend improvements. Read and write English at a level required for successful job performance. Operate and maintain a variety of tools and machines utilized in the basic trade. Climb ladders and scaffolding and stoop, kneel and crawl through small spaces.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Any combination equivalent to 5 years journey-level electrical experience.

Valid Florida driver’s license
