OVERVIEW:  Responsible for service in the manner most pleasing to members and their guests.  Assures the highest standards are met in appearance, hospitality, professionalism, and service. Responsible for the cleanliness of all dining rooms, meeting rooms, bars, ballroom, side station & common areas. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Displays the highest standards of work ethic, performance, appearance, attitude demeanor in all interactions with members and staff alike. 
  • Interfaces with all departments in the Club to ensure a seamless experience for members and guests.
  • Sets tables according to standards – proper placement, polished glassware and silverware.
  • Checks dining area for cleanliness including, tables, linens, and floor & chairs – corrects any faults immediately
  • Attends pre-meal meetings to obtain all information communicated
  • Maintains service stations throughout the shift - makes sure all supplies are fully stocked & ready for use & all condiments are filled & cleaned.
  • Responsible for full knowledge of menu items & specials
  • Takes cocktail, wine, food & dessert orders in an established manner.
  • Uses pivot points consistently and correctly
  • Organizes timing & must be able to multitask several tables at once. 
  • Promptly turns in orders to the expeditor clarifying special instructions
  • Communicates with the kitchen throughout the meal letting them know if a table is eating slower/faster than expected.
  • Questions doubts about food quality or presentation before taking it out to the table.  If necessary, informs the member of the delay. 
  • Serves the meal in an established manner.  Ensures that the Member receives food properly prepared & presented.
  • Maintains a clean table throughout the dining experience.  Removes unneeded silverware/glassware, garbage, extra plates, etc.
  • Answers phone and take reservations as necessary
  • Greets and seats members and guests as necessary
  • Informs supervisor of all member comments and complaints
  • Maintains knowledge of computer system related to ringing in checks
  • Completes all opening & closing sidework thoroughly & accurately
  • Reads BEO’s daily and is prepared to answer member inquiries such as room locations, start times etc
  • Checks out with a supervisor at the end of every shift
  • Receives and resolves complaints concerning food & beverage & resolves these complaints to the best of his/her abilities
  • Attends all scheduled staff meetings.
  • Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness, and safety dining room areas, equipment and fixtures.  Reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns to management
  • Makes management aware when supplies are needed
  • Completes any other tasks as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager or Assistant Food & Beverage Managers.
  • Attendance and punctuality are critical due to the scope of responsibilities as well as the impact on other positions and department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Must be able to maintain positive professional relations with members guest & fellow employees. 
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
