Professor/Program Manager of Welding Technologies

Are you an experienced certified welder with a degree in the construction field and have the desire and passion to share your knowledge with students? Seminole State College of Florida has a great opportunity to join or team of talented and diverse Faculty as a Professor/Program Manager of Welding Technologies.

This position is a regular, full-time bargaining unit teaching position beginning August 16, 2018 and is on track for continuing contract and provides the overall direction in the planning, development, delivery and maintenance of the Welding Technologies program to meet state curriculum frameworks and industry work force expectations. This position assists with the recruitment of students for program growth and enrollment management of students within the program.

Salary is competitive and based on educational level and related experience in accordance with our Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule.

Required Qualifications:

Option 1:

  1. Associate of Science degree from an accredited institution in Building Construction, Industrial Plant or Engineering Technology.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of documented experience in the construction field.
  3. Current Certification under AWS or ASME Welder.

Option 2:

  1. Associate of Arts degree from an accredited institution with related construction coursework.
  2. A minimum of 4 years of documented experience in the construction, engineering or vocational field.
  3. Current Certification under AWS or ASME Welder.

Option 3:

  1. High School diploma or GED.
  2. A minimum of 6 years of documented work experience in the welding field.
  3. Current certifications under AWS or ASME Welder such as but not limited to GTAW for pipe welding, plasma cutting, SMAW stick, GMAW mig, GTAW tig.

Previous teaching experience is required for all options.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Construction or Engineering Technology.
  2. Current certifications under AWS or ASME Welder.
  3. OSHA 30 hour certification.
  4. Demonstrated proficiencies in Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Oxy-fuel Cutting, Plasma Arc Cutting and Arc Gouging.
