Under direct supervision, studies and analyzes university-wide classification and pay actions. Position responsibilities include:

  • Completes various compensation actions including, but not limited to: establishing, reclassifying, updating, converting, abolishing, transferring positions, adjusting FTE/funding assignments, and assigning pay grades.
  • Evaluates positions using established university evaluation processes, pay practices, guidelines, and compensation structures and systems for classification and pay;
  • Provides salary recommendation for a variety of compensation actions (new hires, market reviews, reclassifications, etc.)
  • Responds to department requests for compensation information;
  • Assists in monitoring and providing information regarding market data and average salaries – locally, regionally, and nationally for all occupations at UCF so the university can competitively recruit excellent employees;
  • Assists in completing official university salary surveys and external salary survey requests;
  • Assists in creating new classifications;
  • Conducts job audits;
  • Assists Senior HR Representative as back-up as needed;
  • Conducts staffing studies upon request to assist administration with funding requests for additional staffing; and
  • Performs related miscellaneous tasks and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer a candidate with a degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
  • Selected candidate should possess proven professional work experience in compensation and/or human resources generalist experience, including compensation.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills; attention to detail; and excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Requires the regular use of judgment and discretion.
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills required.
  • Prefer Certified Compensation  Professional Certification (CCP).
  • Prefer PHR/SPHR.
