SUMMARY.

The Indirect Auto Loan Specialist reviews Indirect auto loans and renders appropriate credit decisions within Credit Union policy and in compliance with all regulations.

This structures Indirect auto loan approvals to maximize profit and enhance dealer relationships.

This will serve in a back-up capacity for the direct consumer loan team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

Analyzes loan information in order to render a decision within stated lending authority.

Reviews loan documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Ability to effectively and professionally communicate to members, dealer partners, and credit union staff both orally and in writing through various channels.

Ability to read and interpret credit reports and explain information to internal and external members in addition to dealer partners as needed.

Provides decision recommendations on loans that must be escalated to a higher lending authority.

Accountable for managing individual and team queues to ensure loan decisions, questions, and messages are responded to in a timely and professional manner.

Strong ability to educate and inform necessary parties of counter-offers, loan stipulations, and reasons for denial.

Responds to internal and external members via incoming and outgoing calls as well as through alternative channels such as email, dealer comments, etc.

Possess a working knowledge of government rules and/or regulations related to consumer lending and fraud.

Abides by all credit union policies, procedures, and protocols set forth in the departmental, GTE Financial employee, operational and administrative policy manuals.

Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of all compliance on an annual basis.

Must review and pass all regulatory tests and courses pertaining to their job functions including internal Credit Union policies.

Must keep up to date on any additional regulatory as needed.

Cross-sell appropriate products and services; Maintains or exceeds individual, department, and credit union production goals as set by the credit unions CLO.

Qualifies for NMLS registration according to the Safe Act.

Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with the members, outside contacts, Consumer Lending team, Supervisor, and Manager.

Ability to work independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.

Ability to devise written and oral communication to various lending channels.

Ability to research and compile information for the purpose of recommending alternatives to processes in order to effectively complete job functions.

Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to set priorities, analyze and evaluate situations and results.

Ability to present a professional image when dealing with members, co-workers, management and outside contacts.

Ability to change within working responsibilities, be it internal, market or regulatory driven.

Ability to perform in a multi-tasked environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Proficient PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS.

Ability to have a flexible work schedule to accommodate hours of operation for our dealer partners.

Ability to sit, type, communicate via various channels, and read a computer screen for extended periods of time.
