The YMCA of Central Florida has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Executive Director at the Downtown Orlando YMCA Family Center. This vibrant flagship full-service facility is located adjacent to the corporate / metro office; in the heart of bustling Downtown Orlando’s residential and business communities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the leadership and direction of the District Vice President, the Associate Executive Director will oversee day to day operations; including Membership and signature programming for Health & Wellness, Youth Development, Personal Training, Group Exercise, Aquatics and Youth & Adult Sports. This individual will bring his/her talents and experience to a team of 100+ total staff.

Critical to the position are proven results with a positive trend in membership/sales acquisition and retention, wellness operations and technology including Technogym, and MyWellness Cloud, as well as Youth Development and Aquatics. Metrics for success will include membership growth, quality program development, outcome and standards measurement, volunteer committee leadership, philanthropy and fundraising, community collaborations and sound fiscal and staff management. This individual will be challenged to provide a successful track record with comparable budget and revenue responsibilities as well as the execution of innovative wellness programs with an emphasis on the member experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Establishes with the Family Center leadership team long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives.
  2. Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
  3. Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support Family Center and Association mission, goals, and strategies. May direct Family Center marketing and communication efforts.
  4. Recruits, hires, trains, develops and directs employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  5. Provides staff leadership for assigned committees and for annual support campaign.
  6. Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
  7. The Associate Executive is a member of YMCA senior management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; in wellness, fitness or related field of study highly preferred. Master’s degree in a related field of study a plus.
  2. Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in operations management with responsibilities of at least $3 Million in membership revenue and $350K+ health and wellness program revenue.
  3. YMCA operations management experience; within a large $5 million total budget single facility strongly preferred.
  4. Proven experience managing, recruiting and working with volunteers required.
  5. Proven experience cultivating successful relationships with Cities/Towns/Local Government, strongly preferred.
  6. Microsoft Office proficiency required; Oracle, SalesForce and Technogym experience a plus.
  7. Prior experience overseeing successful fundraising plans of at least $100K annually.
