Position: Quality Assurance Analyst

Status: Full-time; Non-exempt (Hourly Pay Range) 

Department: Information Technology

We are seeking a Full-time Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Information Technology (IT department).  This individual will help facilitate testing, documentation, and communication to the business regarding IT systems and projects across the organization.  The QA Analyst will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives.  The incumbent is also responsible for assisting in developing, delivering, and maintaining in-house software applications documentation and related courseware.

Please note, this is not a remote position, the incumbent must be willing and able to work onsite at our corporate YMCA office located in Downtown, Orlando, Florida.

Job Responsibilities

  • Aid in helping the IT Quality Assurance and Project Management teams meet deadlines
  • Document feedback that addresses existing and potential issues and challenges in IT systems and projects across the organization.
  • Assist in developing, delivering, maintaining and improving overall software applications and training curriculum for end users of all levels.
  • Communicate software problems and issues to software development and support teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with development in both commercial and custom-built software products used in the organization.
  • Create and execute test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications.
  • Identify and document existing or potential software issues
  • Test and ensure that new software integrates into company systems and meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.
  • Assist in developing user stories, inclusive of outlining specifications, defining acceptance criteria, and creating user interfaces
  • Collaborate with IT to analyze data and identify areas of quality improvement
  • Present demonstrations of software to other staff and team members
  • Help maintain a database to track training participants’ status and results.
  • Provide “how-to” support to operational users of the Salesforce.

Knowledge, Attitude, Skills and Habits

  • Needs prior knowledge of YMCA of Central Florida business Operations
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
  • Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have superior verbal, written, and presentational skills.
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Knowledge of enterprise, web based, and desktop applications, including Salesforce, Oracle, and access control.
  • Experience with building and maintaining course and participant databases.
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
  • Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software.
  • Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Aptitude for providing positive customer service and for imparting knowledge to others.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and strong internal motivation.
  • Must have strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • High commitment to exceed performance expectations; result-oriented approach.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree or equivalent certifications preferred
  • 2+ year’s professional experience in YMCA Operations
  • Experience demonstrating software applications
  • Experience writing and completing test scripts
  • Experience working with IT to document requirements and write user stories
