Writer Specialist (2 Openings)

Pay Level: Unit 2 Level 7, $14.53/hour

SUMMARY

The Writer Specialist facilitates the connection between Jesus Film Project® major donors and the field ministries they support in particular regions of the world by collecting stories, photos, videos and other information, and compiling them into inspiring reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Write story-driven donor reports

. ·Request, track and manage stories and other information from assigned geographical areas.

·Interact with fund development team, writer specialists, editor, designer, and other staff

·Establish and develop critical relationships with staff and partners.

·Travel internationally up to 5 times per year to interview field staff and partners.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

·Advanced level of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.

·Interview for information with tact

·Work independently and effectively prioritize tasks ·Ability to travel internationally, taking initiative in foreign environments. ·Knowledge of MS Office applications and Google Suite

·Type 50-70 WPM

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in English, Journalism or Communications) with 3 years or equivalent writing experience.

• Preferably knowledge or experience in missions or intercultural communication.
• Experience in fund development or marketing a plus.
